Abstract

Triangular- and square-lattice photonic crystal (PhC) micro-cavities with high quality factor and ultra-small effective modal volume have been widely researched [1,2]. In this article, we originally proposed a fivefold PhC micro-cavity structure and presented a brief description of its photonic band gap, the characteristics of its defect modes and the photoluminescence (PL) spectrum were performed.
