Abstract

In these last years, strong efforts from the quantum information community have been devoted to gather into a single element the generation, manipulation and detection of quantum objects. In parallel with this technological issue, the quality of the preparation and control of quantum resources like photons, undergoes continuous improvements. While polarization is a widely explored degree of freedom, continuous variables like frequency can have a strong impact on quantum information and communication, as suggested by recent works [1]. Indeed, the required correlations between the frequencies of the photons depend on the targeted application (linear optics quantum computation, clocks synchronization, …). Their existence can either be advantageous for protocols based on hyperentangled states, or detrimental in the case of heralded photon sources.
