Abstract

Fluorescent micro labels, based on fluorescent dye, are limited in multiple readability as the dyes are highly photo unstable [1]. Metal nanoclusters are new class of luminescence nanomaterial that have been purposed for many applications such as detection of metal ions, nucleic acids and proteins, cancer cell imaging, labeling and data storage by direct laser writing (DLW) [2,3]. Direct laser writing has been also used to fabricate silver nanocluster micro-labels, but it has been reported only for zeolites [3]. In this work, we demonstrate cost-effective CW laser diode based fabrication of photostable silver nanoclusters in a silver polymer film that can be used as fluorescent micro-labels.
