Burst shaping in pico-second fiber lasers

Abstract

Using bursts of pulses instead of single pulses can be beneficial in certain micromachining applications [1-2], however due to amplifier gain saturation it is necessary to shape the input bursts in order to produce flat output bursts at the output of the amplifier.
