Abstract
Optical multi-carrier transmission systems based on optical multiplexing/demultiplexing techniques are intensively investigated [1-3], which are suitable for high-speed transmission at 100-Gb/s, 1Tb/s or higher. Optical orthogonal-frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM), super-channels multiplexing techniques are representatives of the approaches. The data rates of the multiplexing/demultiplexing are not restricted by the bandwidth of electrical/opto-electronic devices since all the tributary channels are multiplexed and demultiplexed in an optical manner.
