Abstract

The detection or monitoring of bending (inclination or tilt angle) with optical fibre sensors has applications in several fields as for sample in civil engineering. Several fibre optic bending (inclination) sensors have been proposed so far [1,2]. However, most of them are sensitive to large curvatures (angles) and tend to be complex, hence, not suitable for practical applications.
