Abstract

In our days due to the continuous growth of lasers power became necessary to Faraday isolators (FI) which stably operate at kilowatt power levels. The main factor limiting the usage of FI in laser systems with high average power is the occurrence in the optical elements of thermally induced birefringence caused by the partial absorption of the transmitted laser radiation, which leads to the thermally induced depolarization of radiation and deterioration of the main characteristics of these devices - the isolation degree.
