Abstract
Pulsed ytterbium-doped fiber lasers and amplifiers cover a large field of applications in industry, medicine or science. Yd-doped materials and in particular Yb-glass fibers provide broad gain bandwidth potentially ranging from 1000 to 1150 nm. Such a property can therefore be implemented in applications involving either broadband spectra and eventually ultra short pulses or narrow spectra centered within that range.
