Abstract

Intense, ultrashort pulses at central wavelengths in the mid-IR are in demand for a range of spectroscopic and strong-filed physics applications. The broadband spectra of these pulses overlap many significant molecular absoprption lines in important molecules, while their low photon energy offers a key advantage in strong-filed physics experiments, allowing clear discrimination between tunnelling and multi-photon ionisation regimes. This application places stringent demands on the quality of the source and repetition rate.
