High-efficiency solar Nd:YAG disc laser with optical fiber pumping

Abstract

An innovative solar laser scheme consisting of Nd:YAG disc bonded to a conical undoped YAG concentrator is proposed. By using 137 optical fiber – parabolic dish systems nearly 6 W/m2 of collection efficiency is attained.
