Abstract

Solitonic technology offers many advantages for the realization of waveguides as they can be written in any point of the volume of the host material, their configuration can be dynamically changed and the induced refractive index variation is optimized. Furthermore waveguides are monomodal and propagation losses are much lower than what can be obtained with the other technologies.
