Abstract

Some modern applications of lasers in medicine, industry, and also their use in research laboratories require a system which enables a delivery of laser radiation to the interaction or impact place. One of the best alternatives for efficient delivery of mid-infrared or powerful laser radiation is a hollow glass waveguide. Besides the delivered energy, the interaction beam spatial structure is another important parameter for the applications. This profile can significantly affect the final fluence of the laser beam on the target material.
