Abstract
Pr3+:ZBLAN fiber-lasers have formerly been studied using upconversion pumping and sensitizing by Yb3+-ions [1]. Only recently, work on direct pumping of the Pr3+ by a frequency-doubled OPS laser was published [2], Here we present work on Pr3+:ZBLAN-fibcrs. where we used GaN-laserdiodes emitting at 443mn to directly pump the fibers and achieved lasing at different transitions at red, cyan and green wavelengths. These visible transitions make tins laser an interesting candidate for the lightsource in projection and display applications.
