Abstract
Organic semiconductor materials have become increasingly attractive for a large number of applications, including photonics, biotechnology and optoelectronics. In particular, crystalline materials offers different advantages compared to amorphous polymer thin films commonly utilized in optoelectronic applications, because in organic crystals the amount of structural defects, negatively affecting the device performances, can be significantly reduced, ensuring, for example, high charge transport mobility. In this work we have analyzed the optical properties of quaterthiophene (4T) and tetracene (TN) single crystals. We have studied the photoluminescence properties in the visible range both under cw and pulsed laser excitation.
