Abstract

Thermal characteristics strongly influence lifetime, performances and operation parameters of optoelectronic devices. In the case of lasers, for example, the emitted wavelength and output power-current relationship change with the temperature of the active zone and their maximum output power depends on the efficiency of heat evacuation.
