Abstract
The regime of harmonic mode-locking in semiconductor disk lasers, studied both numerically and experimentally, is shown to be an inherent attribute of these lasers; the number of pulses circulating in the cavity progressively increases with pump power. Saturation and fast recovery of the gain ensure efficient pulse ordering mechanism resulting in strong suppression of cavity fundamentals.
