Design and Testing of High-Index Liquid-Core Waveguides for Single Particle Sensing

Abstract

Fluidic microchannels filled with high-index ZnI2 salt solution enable optimized particle fluorescence collection. We describe their design for efficient interfacing with solid-core excitation waveguides and their improved performance in comparison with leaky mode waveguide approaches.
