Extreme Sub-wavelength Optical Confinement in Nanostructured All-dielectric Silicon Waveguides

Abstract

Novel approaches for the design of all-dielectric silicon waveguides featuring strong field enhancement and low mode areas are presented. Deeply subwavelength transverse characteristics, previously limited to nano-plasmonic waveguides, are predicted in an alldielectric platform.
