Germanium photodiodes on pyramidal textured surface by Metal-Assisted Chemical Etching

Abstract

We demonstrate a Ge photodiode on pyramidal textured surface by Metal-Assisted Chemical Etching (MacEtch) technique. This photodiode shows both reduced dark current and enhanced responsivity at near infrared (NIR) wavelength ranges.
