Abstract

We integrate hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN)-encapsulated graphene on top of a compact silicon microdisk resonator for modulation applications. We demonstrate reduced graphene resistance through h-BN encapsulation and showed active tuning of the optical mode through voltage-gated graphene.
