21-fs Kerr-lens Mode-locked Yb:CaYAlO4 Laser

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrated the generation of 5.87-optical-cycle pulses from a Kerr-lens mode-locked Yb:CaYAlO4 (Yb:CYA) laser. Pumped by a 976 nm fiber laser, stable ultrashort pulses with a repetition rate of ~114 MHz were obtained around 1077 nm.
