Ultra-narrow-linewidth Brillouin/Erbium Fiber Laser

Abstract

A Brillouin/erbium fiber laser of 1.8-Hz linewidth and −125 dB/Hz1/2 phase noise at 1 kHz (normalized to 1-m optical path difference) is demonstrated, utilizing 4-m erbium-doped fiber as both Brillouin and linear gain media.
