Photonic crystal slab sensor for monolayer detection

Abstract

An asymmetric photonic crystal slab was shown the ability to detect monolayer molecule coating. A linear spectrum shift introduced by 0.8 nm level coating ZnO was observed. Self-assemble monolayer p-tolyltrichlosilane was detected.
