Observation of a Parity-Time-Symmetry Phase Transition in a Fiber Cavity

Abstract

We predict and experimentally demonstrate that the lasing threshold can be lowered by virtue of ƤƬ-symmetry, and for the first time observe ƤƬ-symmetry-breaking in a long fiber cavity despite the presence of random phase fluctuations.
