Abstract

We demonstrate extraordinary ~45% absorption of light by graphene in mid-infrared region by exciting graphene surface plasmons. The absorption wavelength is tunable by gate voltage. Further, we show that the absorption bandwidth depends on the carrier mobility of graphene.
