Abstract

We report results of spectroscopic analysis of the first laser-quality MBE-grown Cr:ZnS films. Comparison of spectral-luminescent properties with bulk Cr:ZnS indicates their good laser properties, opening the way towards industrial mid-IR thin-disk and waveguide lasers.
