Mid-IR Lasers and LEDs Using Type I and II Materials

Abstract

We discuss mid-IR light emission from two different semiconductor material systems. Lasing from InAs quantum wells in InAsP matrices, as well as light emission from InSb quantum structures in InAs matrices, are demonstrated.
