Terahertz surface plasmon polaritons on freestanding multi-walled carbon nanotube aerogel sheets

Abstract

We demonstrate that multi-walled carbon nanotubes exhibit highly anisotropic terahertz polarization behavior. We accomplish this by measuring the complex index of refraction of planar and periodically perforated carbon nanotube sheets for two orthogonal nanotube orientations.
