A novel InP-based 1.31/1.55-μm wavelength demultiplexer with side-port multimode interference coupler

Abstract

A novel ultra-short InP-based 1.31/1.55-μm wavelength demutiplexer, whose MMI section is only one beat length of the two guided modes, is demonstrated. The measured extinction ratios for 1.3/1.55-μm bands exceed 20/15 dB, respectively.
