Patterned Optical Trapping with High Efficiency on a 2D Photonic Crystal Platform

Abstract

We demonstrate a method to generate patterned optical trapping on a two-dimensional photonic crystal (2D PC) substrate. Enhanced trapping is achieved with a loosely focused laser beam. The pattern and scale of the optical traps is determined by the 2D PC structure.
