Photonics-Assisted Millimeter-Wave Phase Detector for Femto-Second Fiber Delay Variation Sensing

Abstract

A novel technique to improve the fiber delay variation sensing precision by a photonics-assisted millimeter-wave phase detector is proposed and demonstrated experimentally. The capacity for sensing link delay jitter of sub-10 femtoseconds is achieved.
