Unified Theory of Oscillator Phase Noise with Application to Optoelectronic Oscillators

Abstract

We present a general theory of phase noise for white noise perturbation that can be applied to any oscillator. Our theory agrees well with phase-noise measurements of a hybrid optoelectronic oscillator.
