Abstract

The optical anisotropic characteristics of AlGaN based quantum well UV LED are studied in this paper by k·p method. A polarization switch is observed when Al composition is larger than 50% for the c-plane case. And for the non-polar structure, the light polarization direction is mainly dominated by X’ polarized light, which is good for LED or Laser applications.
