Stabilized Lasers for Space Applications: A High TRL Optical Cavity Reference System

Abstract

We have developed a laser stabilization system capable of measuring nm-level distance variations between satellites separated on orbit by 250 km. We describe the construction of the reference cavity and show performance results and environmental tests.
