Deterministic aperiodic photonic structures based on woodpiles

Abstract

By modulating the thickness of rods in a photonic woodpile according to deterministic aperiodic sequences we study the transition from a perfectly ordered photonic crystal to a disordered structure using transmission and reflection spectra.
