Self-Referenced Photonic Crystal Biosensors for in situ Binding Studies

Abstract

Self-referencing using two adjacent 2-dimensional photonic crystals is investigated. The two resonances are shown to have nearly identical quality factors and sensitivities. A split-flow microfluidics scheme for partial functionalization or differential measurement is also demonstrated.
