Theory of Faraday Effect in High-Q Whispering-Gallery Optical Cavities

Abstract

The general theory of Faraday rotation in high-Q Whispering-Gallery optical cavities is investigated. We have studied the behavior of the transmission spectrum and identified the optimal condition for maximum sensitivity to external magnetic field.
