Experimental Demonstration of a 32 Gb/s Reconfigurable Logic Gate Using a Dual-Drive Mach-Zehnder Modulator

Abstract

We propose a scheme to implement logic operation in optical domain based on the interference in a dual-drive Mach-Zehnder modulator which can be easily reconfigured to realize all the basic types of logic gates. Experiments have been successfully carried out at the speed of 32 Gb/s.
