Monolayer Passivation of Silica Resonators to Avoid Excess Thermal Line Broadening

Abstract

We present passivation on silica resonators by hexamethyldisilazane which suppresses excess thermal line broadening due to water adsorption without degeneration of Q factor. Soliton mode locking with passivated resonators in moisturized atmosphere was demonstrated.
