Photonic Generation of Sub-Terahertz Signals using Self Phase Modulation in Highly Nonlinear Fibers

Abstract

We propose photonic generation technique of sub-terahertz signals based on the Kerr effect in highly nonlinear optical fibers. Simulation results confirm the feasibility of generating an on-off keying modulated signal at 100 GHz.
