Abstract

We propose a mode (de)multiplexer without mode conversion based on a symmetric three-core waveguide directional coupler formed with a single-mode core placed between two identical few-mode cores. This mode (de)multiplexer can offer ultra-low modal crosstalk. © 2020 The Author(s)
