2 μm long period fiber grating fabricated by CO2 laser

Abstract

Using a CO2 laser, 2 μm long period fiber gratings (LPFG) are fabricated here, to the best of our knowledge, for the first time. The transmission spectrum changing with the period, effective index modulation and grating length is investigated.
