Detailed Characterization of Free-carrier Generation and Recombination in Silicon Nano-waveguides

Abstract

We review recent results on free-carrier dynamics in silicon nano-waveguides. Linear and nonlinear generation rates are accurately characterized, while the recombination dynamics is observed to be dominated by a trap-assisted mechanism.
