Abstract
Orbital angular momentum (OAM) based wireless communications have drawn much attention since the orthogonality of the OAM modes has the theoretical potential to provide the independent channel. However the inherent characteristics of OAM waves pose several challenges in the practical applications. In this paper the current problems of OAM based communication are discussed and some key techniques are proposed.
