Abstract

In this paper, we will review our recent works on advanced signal processing for VLC, particularly the orthogonal circulant matrix transform (OCT) precoding that requires no channel state information. The benefits of OCT precoding in SISO-, MIMO-VLC, and the inherent reason of performance improvement, will be discussed. In addition, comparisons of the existing solutions to combat the limited modulation bandwidth of VLC systems will be presented. Potential applications of the OCT precoding in other systems will be given.
