Abstract
An in-fiber Mach-Zehnder interferometer formed by connecting a graphene-coated fiber section between two long-period fiber gratings is proposed and demonstrated for ammonia gas sensing. Our experimental sensor shows a sensitivity of ~3.5 pm/ppm over the gas concentration range from ~3 to ~180 ppm.
