Photomechanical Targeted Drug and Gene Delivery to Central Nervous Systems

Abstract

We demonstrated efficient gene delivery to brain and spinal cord in rodents by applying photomechanical waves. The method was applied to recover motor function of rats with spinal cord injury. Photomechanical waves can also open the blood brain barrier.
