Abstract

We report the photorefractive two-wave mixing amplification of broadband femtosecond pulses in a Rh:BaTiO3 crystal. The maximum gain coefficient of the two-wave mixing amplification was ~11/cm using 30 fs pulses at 800 nm wavelength regime. Beam fanning for the femtosecond pulse is less pronounced than for cw laser facilitating higher two-wave mixing gain for femtosecond pulse.
