Abstract

A wideband optical signal-to-noise ratio (OSNR) monitoring technique using a Mach-Zehnder interferometer was proposed. The monitoring error is < ± 0.5 dB with tolerance to polarization-mode dispersion (PMD) at 1 and 10 Gb/s.
