Studies on the color converting efficiency of organic polymer integrated onto InGaN light-emitting diodes

Abstract

Organic light emitting polymer F8BT blends has been integrated onto the blue LED for the purpose of fabricating color transferring from blue to green. The transparent PMMA would play a big role to prevent the polymer chain from conjugating which may result in the lower conversion efficiency. Encapsulate the LED chip by epoxy would enhance the maximum conversion efficiency from 3% to around 20% and the red shift of peak wavelength may be eased compared with non-encapsulated one owing to the modification of heat and moisture.
